|Total animals in Shelter (specify species): 210 birds, mostly Psittacines (parrots) ranging from budgies (small parakeets) to conures, Amazons, African Greys, Cockatoos, Macaws, Lories. We also are home to 30+ finches and one canary.
Adoptable animals: N/A
Sick pets: one bird with bacterial infection being treated, 3 severely
physically handicapped, 2 severely depressed/anxious birds being
treated with holistic medications, one bird with thyroid problem on daily
meds, several birds who are blind in one or both eyes.
Needing Vaccines: annual polyoma vaccinations for all but the 25 Parakeets.

Unpaid Shelter Bills: We are currently caught up.
|We offer "perpetual care" ie lifetime care, for unwanted, special needs and or elderly exotic birds (parrots and softbills) We do *no* adopting out of animals.
The Oasis Wish List: A newer FAX machine (ours is very old and not working currently), Large Bath-size towels ( for the cages of the special needs birds), Bird Toys of all sizes. (If they are used they MUST be sterilizable.), Large Play Stands, We need Volunteers to help with:
Feeding 4-5 hours in the mornings, Weekly cage cleaning, Twice monthly yard work
Please Note: Volunteers must attend an orientation meeting and be able to provide a once a month block of 4-5 hours time.
The Oasis Sanctuary has need of the following goods and/or services:
A newer FAX machine (ours is very old and not working currently)
Blankets and Plastic Tarps to cover the outdoor aviaries. Although we have enough for the winter of 98, we will need more for next winter!
Toys for everyone from budgies to Macaws
A Power Washer- for speedier cage cleaning
Pad Locks that allow you to set your own codes or Matching Key Locks.
We need about 40-50 new locks!!
Larger Playstands and Large Perches for both the inside and outdoor birds.
A Commercial Size Mixer - for mixing birdy bread batter for 15+ loaves we bake every week.
A PC Lap Top Computer - for our Educational Programs
A Small Copier
A File Cabinet
Book Shelves - Freestanding or wall mounted. All types are needed.
Aviaries and Cages - We will take your used and unwanted bird housing.
A Gas Powered Lawn Mower (unless you have a riding mower you'd like to donate.
A 'Tuff Shed' type building to act as a quarantine building. Used is
Landscaper/ Tree Trimmer - We need a knowledgeable person to come out to trim back our trees and allow more sunlight to get through to the aviaries.
